Company’s annual dinner part 2

On the day of the annual dinner, it was the only day PotatoGal & I had the same shift! :D Since Chimmy resigned & there were 2 of us left @ dept store, we couldn’t have the same shift on the account that we were the only seniors left! :(

The idea was I follow PotatoGal to her aunt’s place to wash up but we didn’t have enuf time.. Shop would close at 4pm but at our side – how are the part timers who come in for noon shift going to eat their dinner? Noon shift’s ppl eat dinner at 4.30pm. Since the part timers also came in late, we only managed to come out for our lunch at 2.30pm. By the time we finished our lunch @ Pizza Hut – SERVICE SUCKS! – it was almost 4pm!

ShopMgr & PotatoGal told them to bring bread & tapao eat in dept store but I felt tat was too cruel. They were relieving us & couldn’t go to the dinner but couldn’t go out for dinner? So I insisted that they go out for dinner and come back fast!

After they had come back, PotatoGal was already fully made up by Jas. Thong was sitting on Jas chair being made up into an angel. Or freak. Silver eyeshadows and pink lip gloss. Eeeewww.. Half boy, half girl. Noted, Thong’s eyelashes are quite long for a guy. MCL was jealous of it. :P Then PotatoGal went over to the other cosmetic counter & touched up! Ralph was sitting there being made up. Another boy-girl. The makeup artist/promoter was applying electric blue eyeshadow!!! Ralph later told me, “I wanted sth outstanding.” Ho. Ho. There are LOTS of effeminate guys @ my co. Those who enter as straight become wavy. Or both.

Anyway, nobody was free to makeup for me & I didn’t want to ask so I just applied the makeup myself. :) I know to those working in cosmetics, they think I’m an amateur but I don’t see much difference it makes even after I had been touched up by them. I didn’t want sth outrageous anyway, sth shimmering and a touch of lipgloss will do. I’d add gold glitter from Revlon on face & body later.

PotatoGal kept touching up her makeup! I wondered when she would be satisfied with her makeup! We were going to be late!!!

We rushed to shop to change into our ‘costume’. I had to iron my beidge top & Thong followed me. I ignored him following me.

Every1 wow, wah at each other. BlackHairedGal wore a babydoll dress. ShopMgr made up her hair – probably at hair salon & wore a horizontal pleat top, low cut revealing her more than adequate bust and a flair knee length skirt. IMHO, she should wear vertical pleats instead. It would make her appear taller & slimmer. MCL wore a t-shirt & linen pants. G-string underneath probably. Thong wore a simple t-shirt & jeans with white school shoes! Wow. PotatoGal’s dress was so simple & sweet!

When we reached Sg Wang area, we looked for parking. Ralph said he knew how to go there but in reality, I don’t think he had an idea where to park. Or if he had made up his mind. We rounded the area for minutes & he was indecisive about where to park. I told him to just park inside Uda Mall. The parking ticket was a plastic coin, like in Genting casino. Cute.

We put on our wings & decided we looked weird walking around like tat. I lowered the strap to my upper arm & Ralph followed suit since he was wearing a t-shirt!

Had to walk over to Planet Hollywood. It was farrrrr.. high heels hurting me.

SmoothOperator wore a white shirt & pants, white leather shoes. He was the only 1 going straight to the dinner area.

Hot Mama Restaurant

G, Lynnee and I celebrated our belated birthdays @ Sungei Wang on a Sunday. Earlier I had suggested that we watch GSC free ticket movies together but G was planning to go to Bangkok again & then Lynnee had watched Garfield using it. Since G is also in retail sales, our time tables always clash & I decided to watch any * movie loh.

I searched Sungei Wang’s website for this restaurant, which occupied the humid food court (left side) but couldn’t find it. I always misspell Sungei as Sungai.

Actually G didn’t have any more battery in his handphone & he had informed Lynnee earlier that we should meet at Lot 10 Concourse. I went there but I didn’t see him. Went inside Isetan as well for any white apparel & check out competition (another outlet :p). Soda, Seed, MNG, Yin & Yang, etc.. nope. :( There were shoes and bags fair @ ground floor. I so wanted to sit coz my feet was hurting…

Then I found G in the middle of the fair & we sorta hugged each other for birthday. :) Lynnee said she was finding parking since she was stuck in traffic jam earlier. After G & I had walked almost every floor of Lot 10, Lynnee arrived. G so wanted to buy another pink-peach polo t-shirt!

G said, “Eh!! I fell in love with this t-shirt! Do you think I should buy?!” He was almost jumping.

I saw the t-shirt, it was normal though the half body mannequined looked hard & muscular! ;)

“Go in & see lah.”

“Mmm.. already!”

“Did u get anything 4 ur birthday?”

“Err.. no lah.” He thought about it. Then he added, “A camera. And ah.. I don’t calculate when I buy coz I always buy stuff.”

Hah.

He continued, “Actually I have another t-shirt just like that. I REALLLY REALLLLY love the colour and I bought it but after bringing it back home, it’s not that striking, tat colour. I really like that colour laaa… do you think I should buy? Aiyaaa..”

“Err.. then better not buy!”

When Lynnee arrived, we didn’t know what to eat. I suggested Dome, the gay place. G shook his head, “DON’T want lah!” Mmm.. weird. Maybe he ahhh had some bad kao experience there..?

So we all looked at G who works nearby.

“Where do you eat usually?” I asked him.

“Behind those streets lah.”

Good to know he saves money in food. I thought he eat in Starhill.

We checked out the directory in Sg Wang & decided on Hot Mama. It must be new.. err, frankly I hadn’t been to Sg Wang for months! I think the last time I went there was with Amois. Months ago. & I don’t eat at their food court if I can help it. Too hot.

The place was in bright orange & yellow. I love the deco. Roundish tables and shiny plastic curtains.

As my braces had just been adjusted, I had to choose sth soft. I had the banana + prawn & Roti Canai Cheese with slices of chicken and salad inside. Lynnee had Ayam Percik Chicken Rice which she complained that they used satay sauces instead of the authentic sauces.

The food that I ordered are more like snacks. I like the sour spicy sweet sauce. The price was ok, not as expensive as Noodle House but the portion is not big. Just enough for a moderate eater. Even I had to sample G & Lynnee’s food. The Chinese herbal drink was sweet but not too sweet.

Price: RM18 including tax for my 2 snacks & drink.

Ambience: 4/5

Service: 3/5 nothing to shout at but the waiter/waitress are quite fast in handing out menus. As there weren’t many customers, they were also attentive. We even had a waiter standing near our table waiting for us to signal for the bill after we had finished our food & was taking pics with Lynnee & G’s (faulty) new camera.

Rating: 3.5/5

Company’s annual dinner

Yahoo Avatar angel with unicorn

This is my 1st time since I joined in the company AFTER they had their 2005 annual dinner. The theme is Angels vs Devils. Of course I’m an A. N. G. E. L. I am pure and iiiinocent mah ;)

I remembered I had some white tops but no white skirt or dress. The white jeans that I have is too loose for my size now.. I wanted to borrow the Elle halter top (very classy) from Nat but she was in Singapore then. I asked her if she could lend me but she wasn’t sure which top I meant & she was coming back to Malaysia on Sun. My dinner was on Monday! Rush!!

I had searched Mid Valley, 1U but shit, I missed A-Z, a shop recommended by Lynnee. Went to Sg Want & Lot 10 too before I found G & Lynnee for our belated birthdays celebration. No such luck.

Actually there were LOTS of white apparels but I wanted sth fitting & I can wear other than once a yr. Was hoping to get a white dress but then where can I hide my tummy? :p

On Sunday, I went to Petaling Street & found a sweet knee length, dark red rose embroidered white skirt with netting underneath. Sweet. The black skirt was even more striking. RM29 only. Went to almost every shop along Chinatown. Found 2 more white skirts with very nice cutting but I didn’t like the stitches design – too big. Aunty. But the cutting was soooo nice!

In between, I found some tops that are really outrageous! Whole thing in blarring & shocking colours sequins! If there were a silver metallic mesh top, I’d buy.. like the 1 worn by the angel in Osim?

Then I found a white beidge top with v-neckline and lace trim @ neckline front & back as well as the bottom of the top. So sweet & gorgeous. It has ruches on the chest and the dark purple version looked great on the mannequin. I tried it on. :D Yes. Bought it @ RM36. After I walked a few shops, I thought, “RM36 is expensive @ Chinatown!” I can buy tops like that at RM30 tops using staff purchase @ my own co! But what the heck, I can wear it when I hang out with frens next time :)
