Procastinators in security guards

Warning: Long ranting post!

Everytime the sales is over, we need to transfer discounted items back to warehouse or other outlets. This time, I faxed memo to request for transfer out to the dept store BEFORE the sales was over. Coz they take a few days to a week to chop & sign that memo & give it back to us. Without that approval, we cannot transfer out stock.

As expected, we received the approved memo a few days later, after sales had ended which was great. Since we are going to have stock check soon, we have to stop all activities of receiving & transfering stock out a few weeks beforehand. The last day to scan all items was on Wed – today yesterday while the last day to pass the transfer out stock to driver is on Thurs.

I had finished scanning all the transfer out stock on Wed. I had told 1 of the security ppl that I had stock to transfer out and asked if they could sign the cartons. I wanted to be firm – just tell them to sign but MOST of them are professional procastinators. NANTI, NANTI. All of them are Malays. I am not anti Malays but it gives them a bad name. I always say it’s not the race but individuals. Sometimes, I think race does come into the picture. When a certain race is being spoon fed by the government, this discount, that reserved; it makes a certain race thinks that they are invincible. What the heck, they don’t have to try so hard to get something!

So, this R (a so-called security staff) asked if he could come later.

“Nanti bila?” I asked him.

“Nanti, lepas… [mumble junk],” he mumbled.

By noon, my driver had come & gone.

Later R came, “Bila mau keluar?” It was already evening.

“Esok lah, tadi driver dah datang.”

“Nanti saya datang lah.”

I passed reminder to Kiddie to get security staff to sign on the approved memo & cartons, then I finished my shift.

Today, Yesterday, when I reached my counter, the whole exit form was rewritten. Where was my original 1? I called back shop. I guessed PotatoGal had rewritten it.

“Tat R opened the boxes & complained harga pun tak sama!” She explained.

So shit! Whenever security guards sign our cartons, they sometimes tell us to seal all the cartons 1st b4 they sign. Now they cut the cartons up! What are they thinking?!

So she had to rewrite the exit form. Coz R discovered some of the items’ prices were different from the 1 written on the form.

Which meant the cartons weren’t signed out coz you know what time R came yesterday? 9.45pm! Dept store closes at 10pm.

These guards should have their lazy bones operated out.

Yesterday was a different guard. BlackFace said he’d come later. My company’s driver came & went. I asked BlackFace to sign my cartons as he came to get my signature – they are supposed to get our attendance sign every hr to make sure that there’s staff @ counter. But they always get staff to sign SEVERAL hrs at a time coz they do something else at other hrs, like zzz, rest, chit chat or make other ppl’s lives miserable or maybe even plot to steal things. There had been history of security staffs stealing things too.

I told him that I would call driver to come here. He retorted, “Call dulu lah.”

As I had another box of damaged stock (which was just approved by AreaMgr) to scan, I didn’t mind him not signing my cartons then. Then when I had finished scanning transfer out, I asked him to sign.

BlackFace asked, “Bila transfer out?”

“Sekarang atau esok.”

“Besok baru sign. Sekarang tak boleh sign kalau transfer out esok.” He left.

I fed up, I went to the security room during my dinner break and asked 1 of the big shot security, “Kalau transfer out esok, hari ini tak boleh sign ke? Boleh kan?”

Coz last time I had asked him & he said if the transfer out were to be done on next day’s morning, the stock can be signed on at night or the next morning (tat day itself).

He asked, “Siapa??? Mengapa tak boleh sign?!”

“[BlackFace]. Sebab semalam saya dah beritau R, R tak dapat sign semalam. Hari ini tanya [BlackFace], dia kata mesti sign esok. Hari ini tak boleh!”
He called BlackFace & at the same time, BlackFace was nearby so he came in very quickly. BlackFace then wanted to save his ass asked me back, “Bila mau transfer out? Sekarang ke esok?”

“Sekarang lah kalau boleh!”

SecurityBigshot said to BlackFace, “Orang nak keluar stock, mesti sign lah!”

Immediately BlackFace went to sign the cartons.

At night when he passed my counter, he told me angrily, “Ada memo tak?”

Duh. If there were no memo, how did he sign? Didn’t he check if there were memo? Bcoz security guards cannot sign the cartons if there’s no approved memo.

“Mestilah ada.”

“Nanti letak kat bawah!” He meant the loading bay. What? Scared the stock doesn’t get transfered out by Thurs?

He glared at me. I glared LONGER at him.

Later I found out that he told another staff working in Metro that also had transfer out, “Dah tutup semua panggil saya sign kah?!” He left after saying that too. This woman is not some1 to be messed around with. She complained to Princess and even Princess shook her head & sighed at the security staff’s attitude. Most probably Princess called SecurityBigshot & SecurityBigshot got BlackFace to sign transfer out for her case. Immediately.

1 of the Operations Exec is a difficult person. She always look like she’s dying – except when she’s flirting with young guys, she’s in her 30’s or 50’s? Since I had about 10 cartons, there were about 4 pieces of paper listing the cartons info. I had only 1 carbon paper – on the 1st copy. She didn’t want to dirty her finger to take out the carbon paper from the 1st copy so she had to sign all 7 pieces of paper.

She complained, “Mengapa bawah tak ada carbon paper?”

I excused, “Tak cukup carbon paper lah.”

“Leceh betul. Lain kali gunting section bawah. Saya tak perlu sign begitu banyak.”

Sign so few forms also lazy! Go home & sleep lah!

When I asked the SecurityBiggershot, “Boleh ke gunting bawah?”

SecurityBiggershot asked, “Mana?”

I pointed to the sign for Operations Exec & Branch Mgr, “Sini.”

“Mana boleh? Mesti sign.”

“[That OE - yes, I told him tat OE's name, I don't care, it was the truth!] kata boleh.” I think I didn’t mention that she didn’t want to sign so many copies. I should, next time.
