Gambling at Mich’s again

After dinner at a pizza place, we went to Mich’s house. Actually we wanted to tapao yu sang but somehow the PIC (Nat) didn’t buy it. Forgot why..

Mich was itching to gamble again. She had won some $ the other day..

This time, Jean’s bf became the banker. After that, we took turns to be the banker. Soon, Jean and her bf left. Frankly I don’t have much to talk with him. Maybe it’s because I don’t know him that well and vice versa. But I know he only eats Chinese food. Which makes it tough when we celebrate birthdays at non-Chinese restaurants/cafes because most of us like to try different food. I think Jean eats Chinese food in all her dates with him. Hunh.

My luck that night was as bad as good as the previous day at Mich’s place for 21. I kept getting bomb. *moaned* I had to dig my angpao to pay.

I told Nat’s bf, “You see? You are not the banker, I keep on losing!”

I insisted that we changed the game to In Between. Still bad. Sam too. Then Sam and I changed seats - we were sitting next to each other and hoped, “Will change to better luck!”

Both of us were losing. Then we got a really good pair of cards. She got Ace and Jake. She bet RM10. She got a Queen. Lost RM10. I got Ace and King. I bet RM10. Greedy. I got another freaking King! I lost double! *cried* With tears at the corner of my eyes, I groaned, “Ahhhhh.. I lost ahhhhh….”

With no more money, I owed the pool RM20.

But our luck turned better and we managed to get back RM20 slowly. We betted RM1 or RM2 even though we got really good cards. Sigh. Thank God.

I even managed to win a few $ after that. :) The best game among friends would be lots of highs and lows but everyone win or lose a few $.

Yamcha with CurryChicken & her boyfriend

Couldn’t yamcha on the night of bbq, she called me up before T-Bone’s early dinner and his boyfriend picked me up at a warehouse. After introduction, he kept quiet and drove his car.

“So where are we going for yamcha?” I asked them.

The boyfriend kept quiet. CurryChicken pondered and asked her boyfriend something in Mandarin. Then she turned to me, “You can eat vegetarian today?”

“Can, no problem.” :)  “So where you have in mind?”

“The place near you. I also don’t know where.”

At the Chinese restaurant, we sat down at a table with uncleared plates and cups. The place was packed but I saw about 4 staffs only. We waited for sometime to get the menu.

“Eh, what do you want to eat?” I asked her.

“Mee jawa.. I feel like eating it.”

“Mmm.. ” I saw the picture in the menu. “Got egg woh!”

“I eat egg!” She grinned.

“Ceh, not pure vegetarian!”

“Yeah lo. Haha.”

The whole time, only the 2 of us chatted while the boyfriend kept quiet, maybe watching tv. I tried to get to know him by asking questions but after awhile, I stopped because I was the only one asking questions.

Her boyfriend looked like 15. She’s in her very late teens.

Not much soft food there.. I ordered a fruity ice thing and ice blended cappucino. It took a looooooooong time for our food to arrive, mine the last. There was mango, some dyed nata de coco and lots of ice - the nata de coco was tough to bite. I figured I would have problems with indigestion soon.

By the time we had finished our food, it rained like cats & dogs. Her boyfriend offered to get the car and drive over to our block so we wouldn’t get so wet. Nice.

“When did you two meet?” I asked her.

“Remember last time I went for double date movie?”

“Yeah.. that’s his friend ar?!” My eyes widen in disbelief. The double date was CurryChicken and her girl friend matched with Blondie’s part timer and his friend.

“No lah. Haha.. Blondie’s part timer and his friend was so stingy so I didn’t hang out with them at movies. Instead, later, I hanged out with my friend and she brought her friend. My boyfriend lo. That’s how we met lor. On Valentine’s Day somemore.”

“Waa..”

After we got into the car, it was almost 4.30pm. I had to be at home - Sam was going to pick me up at 4.30pm! But it was raining so heavily (and I was outside), I asked Sam to come later for safety.

I told them, “I have to be at home by 4.30pm.. but I can tell my friend to come later.”

“Ha?” CurryChicken reacted.

“I want to go to my friend’s place first,” the boyfriend said.

“Where is it?”

He uttered a place which I had no idea. “It’s near your place lar.”

And he drove to that place. CurryChicken and I sat inside the car, he got out and after a few minutes, he came back and told CurryChicken, “Come in.”

“Ha? Don’t want lar. You go lar,” CurryChicken told him.

“Come la,” and it wasn’t in cajoling tone.

I was begining to dislike him. He didn’t discuss about going where but simply drove us to wherever. I felt he controlled CurryChicken more than dating.

“Nevermind lar, we go down for awhile,” I told CurryChicken.

It was a small pub. No cupboard to store liquor. But there was a cupboard full of soft toys! All the chairs were still on top of tables. An auntie was sweeping the floor.  Tv was showing Fast & Furious.

“This is the pub for uncles,” CurryChicken explained.

Luckily, after about 15minutes, we left. :D
