Jean’s birthday @ Lookout Point, Cheras (2007)

Chai recommended a “very nice environment place” in Cheras for Jean’s birthday where you “can see the lights in KL.”

“Oh? Little Genting?” Where the couples love to make out there because it was dark, high up but don’t have to travel up to Genting.

“No.. it’s another side.”

Then Nat also suggested Japanese buffet but she’d had to ask Joel first. Joel had chased after Nat previously but Nat only treated him as a friend (and Japanese buffet member supplier). There was no reply from Joel, probably because he was fed up with Nat only calling him when she wanted to eat Japanese buffet at lower price or he wanted more space for his life since Nat had a boyfriend already..?

So we met up somewhere in Cheras and then Chai directed us to the place – there is only 1 way up and down. Chai was so nice to ask people to fetch me :) but I asked Sam if she’d fetch me since she always hangout at her “potential in-laws” place, near my place. Before she replied me, TBone called me and offered to fetch me! :D Great friends I got! Then Sam replied so I called back TBone no need to fetch me :) because he’d had to come through the tol.

This time, Sam’s boyfriend came along and drove us there. Everyone was late due to the traffic jam and rain. That place had so few lights that we had to rely on cars’ lights. Luckily I had eaten some dinner.. but I drank a gulp of apple cider vinegar so that I would be hungry by the time I reach there hehe.

When we reached the hillside, what Chai said was true – it was really beautiful. Lots of bright lights.

We asked her, “Who did you come with?”

She just smiled mysteriously and talked something but didn’t really answer us. Mmm mmm..

Jean wore a very sexy and glamourous black babydoll dress! Again, Sam lamented and moaned, “Yuh, you all wear so nice! I’m just wearing a working top!”

We got a table near the counter – wanted the side to see the view but that side was packed. So whenever the food for customers were ready, we could smell the aroma mmmmmmmm :) There was even mist! There were a lot of fans installed on the ceiling but I bet they rarely had to on them. It was colddddddd and we had to wear jackets – which initially we didn’t want to because we were strong (aha) and wore nice clothes to celebrate but tak boleh tahan in the end! We noticed we were the only table wearing jackets! NeverZzz (a guy) even wore those thick wool sweater!

Although the place was run by Malays, most of the customers were Chinese in groups. Ordering was quite fast with taking the food order first and passed to the kitchen so that the food seemed to arrive faster. After a few minutes ordering drinks, they appeared in 1 big tray.

Jean’s meal was the last to arrive. Special mahh for birthday gal. The chicken was probably from another state or something :p

My mushroom chicken chop had french fries, coleslaw salad, lots of mushroom gravy (I like) and hard chicken chop. The only good thing was the gravy.

My tiramisu coffee had lots of cream on top and the taste was nice :)

Needless to say, people go there for the view and atmosphere, not for delicious and affordable food. When I have my own camera, I’d go there to shoot the night lights.

After we had finished eating our food, we waited for the cake to come out. The electricity was suddenly off but the cake still didn’t come out. Jean waited… and waited… hahaha.

The cake was surrounded by plastic (coz of the wind, great idea) and held together by wooden clips.

Jean's birthday 2007

Looks great huh? It had cream cheese at top, chocolate cake inside and strawberry jams.

Everyone had 2 helpings to finish the cake..

Jean's birthday 2007

Oh, it was from Bread Story.. the deco looked better than the taste. I’m surprised there were actually people praising the food @ Lookout Point.. because it was mediocre at most for us and we all ordered different main meals.
