Nose Warehouse Sale

How to go there?

He heh, I had scouted RapidKL website for the routes. I could take U67, U76 or U62 to Sunway Pyramid/Subang Jaya. I remembered the map showed it was further away from Sunway Pyramid & probably in the factory area.

I dozed off once I was in the bus. I had underestimated the distance again. I thought I could walk but my eyes were still shutting from the glare. The day was hot & sunlight blinding. Ah, I forgot to apply sunscreen on my hands.

I walked around The One Academy and asked many people working there. They had no idea where Jalan Lagoon Selatan was! 1 of the ladies said, This is Timur, so Selatan is…” She shook her head, “Donnno.”

Taxi $?

In front of Sunway Pyramid, I asked the taxi booth. They didn’t use meter but by area. Sunway area was RM5. I asked how far was it and 1 of the taxi driver snickered in complain as if he didn’t want the staff to reveal the distance that I wanted to go. The staff said 2km to Jalan Lagoon Selatan.

I calculated. It took me 1/2hr walk to my secondary school which was 1.5km from my house, using short cut. So if I were to walk, it would take me 45min or so… possibly more because I wasn’t familiar with Subang Jaya factory area. Still, I didn’t want to take my taxi there because of the rude taxi driver. Someone called out, “Miss where do you want to go?” but I ignored him. Rude of me but RM5?

I walked around Sunway Pyramid and then I saw another taxi booth. Again, they calculate by area – RM5. This time, the taxi driver was friendlier and offered to ask his “friend” where Jalan Lagoon Selatan was. RM10 for transport to the warehouse sale. I guessed if I buy a shoe, I wouldn’t save much anyway but I didn’t think that. I had come a long way and so I must reach the warehouse sale!

What is a better rate? Can bargain? Should I report to Consumer because taxi driver didn’t follow meter? But there was a booth right in front of Sunway Pyramid, surely SP wouldn’t allow malpractice?

The taxi driver asked me and his friend many times, we couldn’t find the place! He kept saying, “You looking for the place, should get the phone! Then I can call there and ask where it is.”

If I had the phone number, I’d call there myself. Apalah! Aren’t taxi drivers supposed to know the area they earn their money? Install GPS lah.

He said, “If use meter, we can’t earn money. Bus fare also increase. Taxi 20 years also RM2 start.”

The Real Deal

We finally found the place and it was empty from the entrance! No traffic jam, no human except the guard, who asked me, “Mana pegi?”

I was suddenly almost unsure – that day was Thurs, yes, the warehouse sale started on Thurs. “Warehouse sale.”

He pointed to the right, “Sana cepat sikit.”

I nodded and thanked him. There were car park slots along the divider between factories.

The factory hall was like Giordano Stock Clearance’s venue. Only this was separated into 2 sections – RSH (Sports) & Nose. Obviously, Nose section was narrower. At first I didn’t notice the sizes decal and rummaged through the wrong shoe size bins! Hahaha!

Then I saw the decal signs – I finally looked up instead of focusing my vision on the shoes – and went to my size bins. On a first glance, there weren’t really the ones I wanted when I was window shopping during the previous sales but I found some gems hidden. There were probably about 20 designs under RM10 & about 30 – 40 under 50%? Sandals, flip flops, sillettoes, court shoes (1 or 2), slingbacks, Poulaine but I didn’t see any boots.

Some of them were missing the other half. Some were dirty and old but there were also current designs at 50%! At least I thought they were from the most recent/current season – I hadn’t seen all of them in retail.

The bags were huge and in gold, silver ick. Cheesy. Good to be detected, if you know what I mean. I was looking for wallet but didn’t see any there.

There was a design which I liked – it came in purple, silver and black with lace & velvet ribbon. I really liked the silver – the lace design was apparent but I don’t have any gray or silver clothing. I know silver is 1 of the neutral colour with beidge, white and black but I don’t like mixing gray with other colours except with these neutral colours and I don’t have that many neutral clothes. I’m bored of wearing neutral and mourning colours! I almost wanted to get all 3 colours! RM10 only mar! Pasar malam also above RM10 lah!

Didn’t have to queue up at all! There were only 2 cashiers for Nose. I guessed if it were packed, there would be grumbling customers due to lack of cashiers. I heard a customer asked the staffs and the staffs said early in the morning & lunch time were packed. Maybe they would replenish the stock…

After I paid for my shoes, I browsed the RSH side (not my interest as I already have enough swimwear and no need for sport shoes now) and almost flagged down a taxi driver as he was getting into the taxi (he bought something from the sale too). As I waited outside the factory for taxi, someone came into the factory with a taxi – yes! But he & the taxi really drove in and I didn’t wait for it to come out. I walked to the other end and at the junction, saw a guy walking fast in front. So I followed him – when lost, follow your front ;)

There a familiar building stood. The Summit! So this place was nearer to Summit than Sunway Pyramid! The map by Nose in Nose Warehouse Sale 17 - 210908 didn’t show this from this side. If I knew earlier, I’d stop at Summit, then walk over to the place. But then, I had pasted the Google Map but didn’t really look from Summit’s angle. Duh…

Overall, I’m satisfied with this warehouse sale coz I bought 3 pairs of footwear @ RM10 and another at 50% :D
