Puasa

For a person who loves food and have a history of gastric when witholding from eating or being gluttony, I can’t NOT eat within 4hrs.

I imagine it must be really hard for Muslims to get up way earlier than usual and have to eat enough to last till evening, then work without lunch or brunch and tea, no drink whatsoever. It’s no wonder they become sleepy or tired.

Niki’s birthday

A few months back, Niki treated us to home cooked meals at her apartment! A first! Home cooked meals woh! Plus, it was her birthday!

She also invited her colleague, whom YW had met before.

Like most times, YW came to fetch me from somewhere coz he doesn’t know how to go to my home even after many times fetching me back!

Theobroma Chocolate Lounge @ 1 Utama

I’d passed by the outlet many times but uninterested after peeking at the tiny chocolate pieces’ prices. It’s almost 1 meal’s price!

After the free movie from company (thank you, boss²), I decided to try out Chocolate. 1 of my old classmates (he’s not that old though he surrended and claimed he’s old already) praised this place, “The chocolate is soooooo thick, it’s sooooooooooo good!”

Theobroma Chocolate Lounge

I just felt sitting under the “free” roof is a bit dangerous, like it’s being exposed. Especially when one is wearing low cut top. Not that I was wearing one but *look up & around* it made me conscious. Until the drink was delivered to me.

Official site: http://www.chocolatelounge.com.au

It is brought to Malaysia by… a clothing company, Hing Yiap Knitting Industries Bhd! The one that brings BUM here! Oh ohh, I almost applied job at this company till I heard the position requires Mandarin :|

Theobroma Chocolate Lounge - Salmon Crepe
I had tried Salmon Crepe which had teeeeeeeeeny bits of salmon, mushrooms & LOTS of vege.

Theobroma Chocolate Lounge - Salmon Crepe
See?! If I wanted salmon, I’d go to Sushi Zanmai or Genki Sushi or eat Sashimi :p

Theobroma Chocolate Lounge - Strawberry Waffle
The strawberry chocolate waffle with added vanilla was nice but the strawberries weren’t sweet enough & they were.. small. With the vanilla & chocolate, the crispy waffle was one of the better waffles I had tasted but not the best.

Theobroma Chocolate Lounge - Dark Chocolate
The Dark Chocolate drink was the best of all 3! It was overflowing (at 1 side) with thick, full, chocolate. Gawd… The thing was, I couldn’t finish the whole drink without grimacing - my stomach was already full by the time I had 1/2 of the drink!

I’d return for the drink but not the main meal unless it’s with a big group of friends. There are 2 or 3(?) types of chairs and the 1 I sat was average in comfort. This weekend, I’ll be bringing Amois over for the drinks :D

Saturday exercising-shopping

Don’t know why Estee Lauder’s sale in Renaissance Hotel is named as Estee Lauder Staffs Sale. Certainly a lot of the staffs are unable to go to Renaissance Hotel just for the day to buy Estee Lauder companies products as they are in shopping mall persuading (or being bitchy) you to buy the products. Furthermore, internal staffs can always buy the company’s product at staff prices every month & on new products.

Last night, I thought of going to this Sale but I didn’t have the entrance pass. Apparently, it was valid for 1 person only. Then I had stomache in the middle of the night & slept late. Surprisingly, today I woke up way earlier than my working days!

Mayhap I was thinking of going to the sale in my sleep.. :)

Mom had never been to any warehouse sale before except the Guardian & Giordano ones. So she wanted to see what it’s about. Actually her eye cream from Estee Lauder is going to finish & she wanted to buy another before it runs out.

Car also just bought a EL cleanser but from Singapore’s airport - duty free. It was cheaper RM20 compared to Malaysia’s retail price. Guess it’s not much cheaper but still better than nothing.

When we reached KL Sentral, we waited for almost 1/2hr for the RapidKL B105 to KLCC. It would stop directly in front of Renaissance Hotel. Mom lamented that we could’ve taken train to KLCC & walk to Renaissance Hotel but I insisted that would be detrimental to health when we had to walk with all the smoke from cars! Exercising in polluted areas is worse than not exercising at all!

We yakked till we missed the bus stop & had to walk all the way back to Renaissance Hotel. :( Almost got dust into my contact lensed eyes. If you wear contact lenses, you’ll know that the eyes are more sensitive & it hurts when dust creeps in. Or mascara & eyeshadow flakes. *blink blink blink* Remind me to get sunshades. Yesterday!

Unlike other warehouse sales, this one wrapped your wallet as well for security!

Usually warehouse sales products are sold at 50% discount. Including this one. Unfortunately, no more skincare except from Clinique & Origins. Was tempted to get a set of spa scrub from Origins… The smallest booth had to be Bobbi Brown!

Estee Lauder Beautiful Love
Estee Lauder Beautiful Love
- a spinoff from best seller Beautiful

There were Estee Lauder coffret sets on Beautiful Love, Pure White Linen, miniatures (in a set) & roll ons (or spray rolls?). Quite worth it (at least 30%) as it includes a large size fragrance, at least 1 body lotion & a vial for travelling. Handy. Guess I am a sucker for EL’s advertising & packaging. Not sure if EL changed the notes in the fragrances but they don’t smell the same as I remembered!

There were limited colours for MAC lipsticks & eyeshadow, if you compare to the vast colours in retail.

Even Tommy Hilfiger had a few tubes of True Star body lotion, that’s all! DKNY Delicious was there but not the best selling green ones.

Spotted a cow fur like pouch from Origins. At least, it looked that way to me from far. A few skincare products from Lab Series. No guys there. The guys that I saw hanging around were buying fragrances. Females’ fragrances!

I take back my word. Bobbi Brown was not the smallest area. Aramis was. A few fragrance bottles only.

Eh? I didn’t see any Michael Kors!

After paying my purchases, which was the fastest in all warehouse sales I had been, we got down to the mainroad & saw a RapidKL bus. Mom got all excited. Not because we just missed the bus. She still wanted to walk all over from Renaissance Hotel to Sogo! OMG! She’s crazy!

“It’s VERY near only!” she claimed.

Yeah. Like somethings that parents tell you, they are NOT right.

The traffic was even higher than the walk from nearby KLCC to Renaissance Hotel. When we left the hotel, we were hungry. By the time we reached Sogo, we were famished & tired! At least she was satisfied with her walk in the polluted area. Don’t know what she thinks. Ugh.

We wanted to eat Manhattan Fish Market but it was not in the Ground Floor anymore! We thought it had closed down & opted for Four Leaves. Luckily, once we reached LG, we checked out Sushi King - where was it? A red yellow logo was at the front. Oooo Manhattan Fish Market!

The Baked Dory rice was delicious! Granted, it was in smaller portion & more expensive than the previous time we ate it months ago but we were so hungry we didn’t care. Mmm… mmm :9 The deco was new & comfortable too.

We went over to EL’s counter but it doesn’t list any price on the products. Isn’t it 1 of the rules of commerce?

Dinner with SGMY & Car

I planned to leave office straight at 5.30pm but it was what it was - a plan. Car & I were going to meet up with SGMY in Pavilion. Since the food court has soooo many varities of food, we would never die of choices.

Car suggested La Bodega & even forwarded blog entries about the food there on Friday. I was fine with any food as long as they were cooked properly & preferably bland - I had only taken MC the day before.

Rushing to the bus stop, the bus that I wanted to take had departed & I had about 15minutes to wait. I pondered between going back up to my cube to complete the stats report & email to manager or discuss work with manager. I opted for the latter since I had to ask him stuff related to the stats report too.

Manager asked, “So.. how.. are.. you?”

“Do you mean me or the team?”

“You.. lah.”

“I’m ok-not-ok,” I shrugged. “Been better.” I plopped myself onto the chair he had emptied.

“I wasted expensive food.”

“What.. food.. did.. you.. eat?”

“Secret Recipe.”

“Secret.. Recipe.. is.. not.. very.. expensive.”

“It is when you eat and vomit!”

After we discussed work, I went to the bus stop again. Yeay, the bus was still there waiting :)

Just as I reached KL Sentral, SGMY called me. Heh, he has my number?!

“Where are you?” he asked.

“I just reached KL Sentral. I’m going over now.”

“Ha, now only go over?”

“Why - you are there already?”

“No ah I also a lot of things to do just now. But I’m coming over now with taxi. You not yet come ah? I think I wait awhile first.”

“No lah! I’ll be very fast. 20-25min can reach already! You leave now lah!”

Once I had landed at Lot 10/Sungei Wang, SGMY called me again, “Eh where are you?”

“I’m at Lot 10 walking-”

“Lot 10 shopping?!”

“No, coming over.”

“Ohh, coming over. I wait where?”

“Ah.. wait at .. where are you now?”

“Forever 21.”

I guffawed, “You so old already, forever 21?! Wait at information counter in lobby lah.”

“Information counter ah… where ah?”

“Ground floor, got Club Monaco & Coach.”

“Oh I passed by there just now.”

“OK, I wait there.”

“You wait or I wait now ha?”

“You wait (for me to come over) haha.”

When I reached Pavilion, I saw Car but we didn’t see SGMY. “Where is he?” we both asked each other. We called him but nobody pickup.

We tried again & he said one word, “Toilet.”

LOL.

We went over to La Bodega & he grimaced at the menu immediately, “I don’t want. All bread only!”

So we moved on to other places. Lots of pretty girls in skimpy clothes promoting drinks, Celcom & football screens in the restaurants. Euro Cup fever.

We asked him, “We eat something that is not found in Singapore lah.” He’s working there, on and off comes over to Malaysia & US. We went back to the information counter, Car pointed at the food court. She told him, “That’s the food court.”

“I knooooooooow, I had been here before leh!” SGMY said. “Many times lorrr.”

Haha & we treated him like a tourist.

We walked around the food court & towards the end of the food court, I was about to say, “Please no Madam Kwan” coz I remember I had eaten that for someone’s birthday, albeit months ago. He decided, “Madam Kwan lah. Singapore doesn’t have Madam Kwan.”

“OK lah.”

He looked at the menu & balked. “WAAAAAAAAAAAAAH so expensive one ah!”

“We treat you,” I said. Car told her, “You just look at what you want to eat.”

“If like that, we eat food court loh,” his eyes looking outside to the food court.

“You want or not? If want we go to food court.”

Nobody moved.

I looked at the menu. What to eat?? Nasi lemak or spicy food, cannot. Mushroom ick. Chicken screaming. Local delights not worth the $. Got mushroom mee. 2 huge dark brown mushrooms on top of the mee with miso like soup.

I turned to Car, “Do you want mushroom?”

“You don’t eat mushroom?”

I shook my head. I looked hopefully at SGMY.

“I don’t eat mushroom,” he replied firmly.

I pushed them aside to reveal the mee. Almost wan tan mee. The shredded chicken slices were nice, not hard to eat with braces. Car passed some delicious fried chicken from her Nasi Bojari onto my plate. Yum..

SGMY nodded as he ate, “Delicious.”

“Mix with the curry gravy nicer,” I pointed at the orange curry on his chicken. “Nasi lemak also nice,” I sighed I couldn’t eat it.

When I noticed SGMY’s notebook bag had been smeared with some mee’s soup, I pointed at his bag. We both didn’t see when it happen. I thought he was going to complain since he had told us his complain histories. Lucky for the staffs, he was in good mood & explained, “I don’t like to complain in public.” I guessed he could make a fit on the phone..

As I got out to the washroom, a couple from my company came in. The guy used to had a thing for Car. The gal has a thing for Car now. Hatred & jealousy. 2 things. Maybe..?

After we finished eating, I asked SGMY & Car, “So, want to order more?”

Car shook her head. She couldn’t even finish her plate.

“Yamcha yamcha,” SGMY chanted.

“What do you want to drink?”

“Coffee Bean.”

“HA?! Singapore also has Coffee Bean lar!” I disallowed Coffee Bean as an option.

When the bill came, I had my RM50 out but the bill was RM60+. Car just sat there. Gal, she could’ve done something. I stood up and grabbed SGMY’s hand but got his pinky instead. He had already put his credit card onto the bill holder. I pinched his pinky.

“Ow, painful ah. Let me pay. I can collect points. Can win a flat screen tv and IPOD.” His eyes glistened with the thought of free stuff.

“So? You are going to give it (tv & IPOD) to us?”

“No.”

“Then why tell us?”

“I want to pay ma.” He beamed.

After he got the receipt, we walked outside & waved awkwardly/friendly with the couple.

Car suddenly grabbed our arms, “Eh eh go there!” She pointed to the end of the food court.

John King tarts.

I bought some for SGMY in return for his treating us dinner. I queued up at the cashier quickly and looked back at them.

“You don’t worry, this time I let you pay,” SGMY said.

We drank Toast Box @ food court instead. SGMY told me, “I want de-si.”

“Huh?”

“De-si,” he peered at the menu, “you order.”

“I don’t see it in the menu.”

“You order see…”

Feeling like a duh, I told the cashier, “De-si.”

The cashier nodded, “De-si.”

Ha ha. I had no idea what it was. I ordered another for myself.

Oh, tea. Lots of sugar at the bottom that I just didn’t stir. SGMY asked for another cup to replace his.

Couldn’t zzz after that.
