Why is it so much easier to change a wife’s name to follow her husband but not the other way around? Simple. The old laws were made by men, for men’s conveniences.
In California, a man who wants to take his wife’s name must file a petition, pay more than $300, place a public notice for weeks in a local newspaper and then appear before a judge.
It’s time for a change. Anyone should be able to change his/her name as he/she pleases in marriage or after sex operation.
