On the 1st night in Jeju, we bought some instant noodles from CU (a convenience store that is almost everywhere) and cooked it (well, someone cooked it, I helped to scoop water out..). Some liked it watery, I didn’t. Then someone said should have scooped the noodles out to avoid them absorbing too much water. Different people, different taste. Even though noodles mentioned MILD – they are pretty spicy. Coffee from CU is around 2000 Won, including Starbucks ones.
The place where we stayed in Jeju – the host family has a sweet, gentle dog that just gave birth to 8 puppies 3 days ago (give or take 4 days). In the morning, she would come to our room’s door to greet us. :*
She took me to the garden and then to the doggie house where her puppies are.
This is where we stayed. It’s very near Jeju Folk Village but really far from other attractions. It’s a quiet place with clean air, sleep with mattress on the floor (can adjust warmth temperature) and there is no sink to wash face. Instead, there is a basin in the bathroom/toilet – it’s the way Kings wash face, according to our host. Roads are dark in Jeju, so our driver (1 of us) had to be really careful – especially since Koreans drive on the right. Most left lane = slow.
From the Jeju Folk Village, we went to the West. On the way, we passed by a road that had nice view of Hallasan Mountain and there were 2 kiosk stalls – selling snacks and coffee. The pics for the mountain are still in camera.. This cheese egg bread is tasty ;)
Somewhere along the journey in Seogwipo, 1 of us shouted, “ORANGE SHOP!” So we stopped to get some. It has a cute, friendly puppy chained outside :( I wondered if it felt cold because I felt it was windy (around 13C). There was no water.. Hope it was just temporary and the puppy was being cared for.
Then we passed by Starbucks and had to U-turn here. This building has colourful flowers:
Starbucks in Jeju Jungmun DT – I love the outdoor concrete and photos hanging outside. Feels refreshing. The place was practically empty.
The desserts inside:
Further down the road just a bit, saw the prettiest cone by the roadside!
This is next to e-sth seafood restaurant.
Lots of big rocks in Jeju
